Small quilts made from old scraps

A friend gave my mom an old quilt that was in tatters and Mom made several small quilts from it.  Mom looked the fabrics up in a reference book and read that they are indigo pieces from the 1840's-50's.

I love this scrolling pattern.

The quilt was quilted with blue thread.  Here's the back.

Mom created this one from some old blocks.

Here's a close up.  I LOVE the one in the middle.

Another close up.

Detail.

Here's what I'm cooking my family for dinner.  I hope they like it!

  1. I love what your mom did with the remnants of the old quilt. Your oven contents remind me of mine! I often have little doll heads baking in mine, too.

  2. They are all beautiful. Especially the indigo fabrics and pattern. It is really worthwhile preserving a little bit of history. Looking forward to seeing how that doll looks when she is finished.
