A boy in Red Plaid - makeover of a doll that I made years ago

Here is a little boy doll that I made years ago.  I gave him a makeover this week.  He is from Dixie Redmond's pattern.  It's still sold on Etsy and it's a wonderful pattern!  He is elegantly posed with his older sister against an attractive paper towel holder.

Some of my very first dolls now live at the city dump - hopefully, they are turning into compost.  But I really like many of my early dolls.  When I examine one of my earlier dolls, I can see that I had an idea for a personality or a character, and those ideas are still compelling to me.  It's a lot of fun to take an old doll and elaborate on what I was trying to convey 10 years ago.  I'm really glad that I saved so many of this first generation of Elaine dolls.  This doll received a bit of new sculpting, a new layer of stockinette for his head, a new paint job, and some touch ups to his clothing.

I didn't change his outfit that much.  I did some red embroidery on the black trim and added a black sash that could hold a stick sword if necessary.

I think this is his mommy.  She is one of my larger Izannah inspired dolls.  She is about 18 inches and he is 13 inches.
