Tiny Eglantine

Newly created Eglantine considers a mulberry.

Eglantine finds a friend.

O wonder! How many goodly creatures are there here! How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world! That has such people in it!

Eglantine finds a safe home in Tace's lap.

Apollo Knot doll

She's going to get a gold dress with lace around the neck.

Funny, high hairstyle from the 1830's, called an Apollo knot.

Last Day of Doll Class - A Doll Party!

We had a doll party on the last day of class.  The girls made tiny treats for their dolls.  They made powdered sugar donuts by coating cheerios with sugar.  They made tiny layer cakes from vanilla sandwich cookies, frosting and sprinkles.  And there were even tiny cheese sandwiches with cheery tomato slices.

Here's a yummy doll cake!

The girls brought dolls to the party as guests.  Here is a guest, playing pin the tail on the donkey.  The dolls LOVED this game.

A hand colored paper doll was an attendee.

SUGAR!!!

The dolls and doll makers were served Shirley Temples in tea cups at a little table.  It was a great party!

Tace in her indigo dress

I just discovered the name Tace.  It means silent.  I really missed the boat when I named my daughter thirteen years ago.

Tace poses with roses.

Tace, gazing into her future...quietly.  She doesn't feel the need to share every little thought - not that I mind listening to every single thought that flits across the mind of a thirteen-year-old girl.

Tace tiptoes daintily across the floor.  She is made with Dixie Redmond's Izannah Walker pattern.  I love this pattern!  I have been sculpting paper clay boots for the past year, but I just rediscovered the cute little feet that are drawn on the pattern.  They are a very sweet shape.  Tace likes her plain little painted, cloth boots.

Silent Tace

The dress fabric is an 1800's reproduction indigo print.  I love how the threads were dyed before they were woven.  That's why the back of the fabric is blue.

It's time for another Izzie, made from Dixie's pattern.

She's going to get an indigo blue dress.
