A beautiful bench, embroidery, and new doll

My brother, Jeff, made this beautiful cherry doll bench for me for Christmas.   I LOVE it!  He's so talented.   He looked at a photo of a life size bench on the internet, drew up some plans, and produced this little beauty.  Mom made the pretty quilt that hangs over the back.

My dolls sit perfectly on it.

My newest adventure will be teaching an embroidery class to a bunch of girls at my kids' home school co-op this winter.  I can't wait!

I just put a fresh coat of gesso on my newest Dixie IW doll.

  1. No doubt, talent runs in your family...great bench, great present! Your dolls always seem to have a perfect profile and head shape...pretty already! And, you will have fun with the embroidery class...looking forward to more on this!

  2. Elaine, very nice bench and doll. She looks simpler and a little more primitive. I like her.

  3. Wow, what a present, and the doll looks perfect sitting on it! Looking forward to seeing the progress of your next creation. What a talented lot you are!

  4. What a wonderful gift! I love your newest doll in progress. :-)

  5. Beautiful bench! It does suit your dolls jusst perfectly. Enjoy! And have a lovely New Year!

  6. Great bench it looks like an antique church pew and your doll looks heavenly on it.
