A beautiful doll, she is so well made. I tried to figure out what 'calico' is, is her body made of calico? It's really nicely done where the clay meets the cloth. Monica
Sweet as pie. :-) You capture such sweet innocence in your dolls, Elaine.
Monica, in the U. S. calico is a printed cotton quilt weight fabric. In the UK Calico is a bit like what we call muslin here in the US. Muslin in the UK is lighter weight, almost cheesecloth. The terminology gets a little wonky, doesn't it?
Elaine, she is beautiful, I can't wait to see her dress. I adore her little wisps of hair. Kathie

She is wonderful Elaine. I like the wider eyes you have on this doll. ♥Judi
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone! I'm making her dress right now. Monica, I made her body from an old cotton dishtowel. I wanted a rough, home spun look this time.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dixie for the facts about calico!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea to use an old dishtowel to get that slightly rough look. Monica
