Essie and Clarinda, two wax over paper mache beauties

Here are Essie and Clarinda, from Edyth's doll collection.  Edyth decided that they needed to come live with me.  I am so lucky!  I made Essie a blue dress and Clarinda a red one.  My mother crocheted Clarinda a lovely, brown shawl.

Essie and Clarinda are wax over paper mache.  Clarinda has a Motschmann style body.

Essie has seen many things and could tell many stories.

Clarinda has the sweetest little double chin.  She eats lots of sugar plums.

Clarinda's feet are suspended from a string inside of her legs.  Motschmann bodies are fascinating.

Edyth's husband carved Essie's pretty, wooden boots many years ago.

Clarinda's sculpted hair is fantastic.

Tabitha and Teddy

Tabitha has an oil painted, cloth-pressed head.  Her dress is made from antique fabric from an old quilt.

Tabitha, enjoying the November sunshine.

Tabitha's dress is trimmed with vintage cotton lace.

Tabitha is good friends with Teddy, the dog.  They enjoy sitting outside together.

Teddy distrusts the photographic process.
